Trims for the 2021 Ford Explorer

The 2021 model of Ford's popular three-row SUV has five different trim options. The base model Ford Explorer offers great value and comfort for anyone shopping for an SUV on a budget. To better enjoy your Explorer, make your way up the trim ladder to the XLT, Limited, ST, and Platinum trims. With the top-level Platinum trim, you get all of the latest tech and the most comfortable and luxurious interior that Ford has to offer. 

The 2021 Ford Explorer's Powertrains and Capability

The 2021 Ford Explorer has four capable powertrain options to choose from. The standard engine for the 2021 Ford Explorer is a 2.3L Eco Boost four-cylinder with 300 horsepower. Some of the more premium trims have their own engine options, like the Platinum's 365 horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.0L Eco Boost V-6 or the ST's 400 horsepower variant of the 3.0L V6. 

For the second year in a row, Ford is also offering a hybrid powertrain option. Getting 318 horsepower, Ford combines an electric motor with a 3.3L V6 to maximize efficiency at an EPA estimated 27 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway. The adventurous type will be happy to learn that when properly configured, the 2021 Ford Explorer is capable of towing up to 5,600 pounds.

If you're looking for a three-row SUV with a comfortable and technologically advanced interior, the 2021 Ford Explorer is a fantastic option. With room for up to seven, passengers will sit on either the base-level cloth seats or the upgraded premium leather seats available on higher trim levels. In addition to plenty of space for passengers, there's ample room for cargo in the trunk. Thanks to the Explorer's foldable rear seats, it's easy to maximize your storage space on the go. 

For extra interior ambiance, opt for the available twin-panel moonroof that really opens things up for the SUV. The Explorer's standard touchscreen infotainment system has an available upgrade to a larger 10.1" screen with smartphone compatibility and WIFI capability. Listen to your favorite music inside the 2021 Explorer on the available 14-speaker B&O sound system. Other great features for the 2021 Explorer are the multiple power outlets and the available wireless charging station that will keep your devices powered up on the go.
