Jacky Jones Ford 2021 Ford Ranger Model Review
If you're in search of the perfect midsize truck, look no further than the 2021 Ford Ranger. In the third year of the Ranger's reboot, this capable mid-size truck holds great value and is quickly becoming one of the most popular midsize pickups on the market. To learn more about what this durable truck has to offer, check out our full review below.Â
Trims for the 2021 Ford Ranger
With three available trim options, the 2021 Ford Ranger offers a satisfying level of customization. The most affordable Ranger is the base-level XL trim. In the middle is the Ranger's XLT trim, and at its most premium is the Ranger's Lariat trim. At the end of the day, all of the Ranger's trim levels are great options that allow you to cater to your specific needs and budget concerns.ÂLooking to add some more customization? Check out the all-new Tremor off-road package that is available as an upgrade for XLT and Lariat trims. With features like special wheels, a skid plate, and a modified off-road suspension, the Tremor package is a must-have for anyone adventurous.
The 2021 Ford Ranger's Powertrain and Capability
Leading the way under the hood of the Ranger is Ford's 2.3L Eco Boost engine. While there is just one engine option available, the Eco Boost engine is plenty special, as it's the only gas turbo powertrain offered in the mid-size pickup class. With 270 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque, the 2.3L Eco Boost engine is one of the most powerful engines that you'll find on a midsize pickup.ÂThanks to this engine, the Ford Ranger offers a best-in-class maximum payload of 1,860 pounds and can tow up to 7,500 pounds. For a truck with this much power, the Ranger's fuel economy might surprise you. The 2021 Ranger gets an EPA estimated 21 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway.
While the Ranger's interior is more compact than larger truck models like the F-150, it is every bit as comfortable. Super Cab Ranger models can seat five, while Super Crew models can seat four. On the affordable end of the spectrum, the Ranger has cloth-covered bucket seats. However, these seats can be upgraded to leather ones depending on your trim level.Â
Inside the 2021 Ford Ranger

While comfortable seating is always essential, it isn't the only area in which the Ford Ranger excels. Ford Ranger trucks also have amazing and convenient technology features designed to keep you safe and connected wherever you go. All Ranger trucks have WIFI hotspot capability in addition to convenient 8" touchscreen infotainment systems.Â
As with most vehicles, the higher the trim level you choose, the more interior options you will have. Some of our favorite available interior upgrades include a premium B&O sound system and automatic rain-sensing wipers.
