Two of America's favorite pickup trucks go head-to-head. The Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado 1500 have been well-matched against each other for decades, and it's easy to see why. With excellent driving capabilities, incredible stats, and impressive driver assisting technology, both of these models are great options for any driver. However, there's a clear winner between the two. If you're looking for a classic pickup truck, and you can't decide on the right model, Jacky Jones Ford of Hayesville has you covered. We're going to explore the differences between these two trucks, and hopefully by the end, you'll have decided on which one is right for you.

Pricing of America's Favorite Pickup Trucks

Unsurprisingly, these two models have similar prices throughout all of their trim levels. The range is between $30,000 starting and $70,000 as it peaks. However, the Ford F-150 has its Raptor model, which can't be matched by the Silverado. This model starts in the $50,000 range, and it offers off-road capabilities the Silverado can only dream of providing. Our takeaway from this is that Ford has matched prices but has taken care to stand out among its competition with unrivaled value.

Interior and Exterior

Critics have said that the Silverado took risks with its exterior design. Not only is it boxier and more modern-looking, the appearance changes between trims, so the design you get is dependent on the model you can afford. The Ford F-150 is as dependable as ever. All of America knows what an F-150 looks like, and it's recognizable across the nation. We think this plays into Ford's favor, as it doesn't take any unnecessary risks, potentially pushing away enthusiasts. The interiors of both trucks are quite similar, but the Silverado doesn't keep up with its model year. It doesn't match the exterior upgrades and feels quite plasticky. The F-150 is a timeless pickup truck that just keeps getting better with each model year.

Engine Types and Options

It comes as no surprise that you'll have plenty of engine options with both trucks. The Silverado has a turbocharged 4-cylinder, a V-6, and two diesel choices. The F-150 has a number of engines from which to choose, from its V-6 to its twin-turbo 2.7-liter, to its optional diesel. Any one of these engines is impressive, but Ford's turbocharged engines are a bit more advanced. While the Silverado has benefits, we like the Ford engines just a little more.
