Â
With that in mind,
we at Jacky Jones Ford of Hayesville, North Carolina, humbly offer you a look
into the story of how our dealership came to be. Young Harris, Georgia is where
our story starts.
Â
From Hubcaps and Milk Delivery to a Full-Fledged Ford Dealership
Late in the 1950s, if you were driving in Young Harris, Georgia, you would have seen a very unusual sight. A landmark that shone like a shiny chrome diamond. Well, what you were really seeing was a well house covered with glittering, polished hub caps from top to bottom. Those wheel covers were cleaned, polished, and hung on that house by a young man named Jacky Jones. Â ÂWhen people would
drive by and see that shiny, hubcap-covered house, they would have to stop
their car and examine what they were passing on the road. Jacky found his
roadside treasures when he would go with his father, Juan, on his milk route.
Juan Jones was the Young Harris, GA milkman. Seeing Jacky diligently shining
those hubcaps, they would naturally buy hubcaps for their cars or trucks from
the young entrepreneur.
Â
The Start of Jacky Jones Ford in Downtown Hayesville, NC
In March 1959, Juan Jones got a chance to buy the local Ford franchise. He immediately sold his milk truck and bought the dealership. Â ÂÂ
Juan and his wife Margaret ran the downtown Hayesville Ford store with young Jacky helping
out. The Jones family always made sure their customers were treated with
respect and received the very best deal. Finding success, the Joneses had to
relocate their growing Ford Dealership to a larger facility in 1966. And young
Jacky grew along with the dealership.
 Â
Â
In 1980, due to
health issues, Juan and Margaret passed down their Hayesville, NC Ford
dealership to their son, Jacky.
