On the exterior, a unique Sport Appearance package is now optional on the XLT model and adds flashy 20-inch wheels that are painted Carbonized Gray. Jacky Jones Ford of Hayesville is here to share everything we know about the 2021 Ford Explorer to prepare you for a test drive in this awesome SUV!

2021 Ford Explorer: Which Trim Level to Buy?

Available in six trim levels-Base, XLT, Limited, Limited Hybrid, ST, & Platinum-the 2021 Ford Explorer offers something for every type of buyer. For the best bang for your buck, the Explorer Limited offers a plethora of standard equipment and an array of optional features that let you truly customize the SUV to your exact specifications. If a Hybrid engine is a priority then the Limited is the only Explorer available with that powertrain.

Opting for a traditional gas-powered engine rewards the driver with an SUV that can easily tow 5,300 pounds when equipped with the optional towing package. The Explorer can be equipped with all-wheel drive also. Standard luxury features on the Explorer Limited include an upgraded 12-speaker B&O audio system, heated leather seats, power-folding third row, enhanced safety features, and a power-adjustable steering wheel. From low-priced to luxury, you can't go wrong with a Ford Explorer!

Power and Performance in the 2021 Ford Explorer

The Base, XLT, and Limited trims are standard with a 300-horsepower turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that offers plenty of pep. New for model year 2020, the Hybrid Limited remains available for 2021 and matches a 3.3-liter V6 with an electric motor that delivers 318 horsepower and exceptional fuel economy.

For the driving enthusiast, the Platinum or ST models are the way to go, offering more horsepower and torque. Opting for the Platinum rewards drivers with a 365-horsepower twin turbocharged V6 while the aggressively styled ST is tweaked to receive a whopping 400-horsepower from the same engine! Rear-wheel drive is standard, but all models can be equipped with all-wheel drive.
